New Camera

Since my camera’s screen somehow busted on the return trip from the Bahamas, I finally was forced to by a new camera. I stuck to point and shoot as I’m low tech.

I went with the Canon PowerShot SD880IS 10MP Digital Camera with 4x Wide Angle Optical Image Stabilized Zoom (Silver). I figure the wide angle will help with all the shots I try to angle out for without success and image stabilizing will help with my shakes. Plus, I liked my old Canon. I purchased it from Amazon since I had accrued almost $200 in gift certificates to apply toward the camera.

It arrives tomorrow supposedly and I’m so excited! Maybe the Macro function will work on this one, which would help with the food blogs pictures. I think.

    I have this camera! A few weeks after I bought it, NYTimes named it the number 1 digital camera on the market! I bought mine on Amazon as well.


    I never used the macro function, and I just upgraded to a Nikon D90 because I'm a total camera snob... but this one does the trick! I think you'll be very happy with it!

    I LOOOOVE my D90 too! I bought it before I went to turkey, and while it was making the long trip to Iraq via a coworker, I thought, "Holy shit, I just spend over a grand on a camera, what the hell was I thinking..."

    Then those photographs came out, and I was floored at how great they are. I ended up printing about 60 of them in a book through Apple's iPhoto and sending it to Matt for his birthday. I think this is going to be my main method of gift giving now- photo books! Way better than photo albums, and with that D90... SPECTACULAR!

    Glad to hear it is decent. Can't wait! Maybe one day I'll upgrade to a real camera like y'all but I'm too lazy to take pictures with the camera I can easily carry right now much less a bigger one.
